Somerset, NJ - November 11, 2002 - Ventiv Health U.S. Sales, a unit of Ventiv Health, Inc. (NASDAQ: VTIV) has successfully deployed its first sales force using the Target SFA pharmaceutical sales force automation suite. Nearly 300 representatives, working on behalf of ALTANA Pharma, a subsidiary of ALTANA AG (NYSE: AAA), began using laptop computers running Target Mobile Windows Standard Edition in late September, 2002. These representatives are detailing Detrol? LA as part of a co-promotion agreement between Altana and Pharmacia. Earlier in 2002, Ventiv Health signed a multi-year agreement with Target Software of Allentown, Pennsylvania, with the intent of transitioning all Ventiv sales forces to the Target SFA suite.

The ALTANA Pharma laptop software solution was configured and deployed in less than eight weeks by Ventiv and Target Software.

Ventiv is in the process of implementing the entire Target SFA suite including the Windows, Web and Pocket PC versions of Target Mobile. Ventiv has already implemented Target CommSync, Target Software's next-generation synchronization technology, which leverages XML and Microsoft .NET Web Services to move data between home office databases and field devices. Target Software's call reporting and sample accountability software, Target BackOffice, has been used successfully at Ventiv for more than 3 years.
